FAST is Rising to New Heights!

Fluvanna Aquatic Sports Team swam an outstanding championship meet and finished in 5th place of the 16 JSL teams at the championship meet held July 25th and 26th at UVA's Smith Pool.

Many swimmers had personal best times in their events and achieved gold times and the relay teams performed under pressure to swim clean relays throughout the meet.

Our swimmers and team received several awards at the end of the meet. Nick Switzer (9-10 boys) and Chelsea Tomko (15-18) received high-point award winners for their age group, Austin Dorsey received runner-up High Point Award for the 13-14 boys. Bill Helfrich received a volunteerism award and the team won the coveted Sportsmanship Award for Division III.

Congratulations to all the swimmers and FAST supporters. We could not have had this successful of a season without all of you. Our swimmers worked hard, our parents dutifully transported swimmers once, twice, three times a day and our coaches gave endlessly of their time to help our swimmers reach their goals.

Division I here we come!

 

 

The Swim Meet- Did You Know?

Did you know that it takes about 55 volunteers so that the kids can have a swim meet?

June 4th, 2008 at 6:00, is our Mock Meet at the Louisa Meet Pool

What To Bring: A chair, blanket, healthy snack and a sharpie- for writing down your swimmers events.

At the mock meet we will have a volunteer sign up for the next meet. Volunteering gives you the best view of the pool and you are encouraged to break during your child
